CONGRATULATIONS TEAM USA WOMEN'S SOCCER WORLD CHAMPIONS!

CONGRATULATIONS
TO THE USA WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM-WORLD CHAMPIONS!
Image by Ernesto Rodriguez from Pixabay
What a time! We were thrilled and excited when Team USA played all the way to the win on Sunday, July 7 in Lyon, France. Both teams were fierce players giving it their all, but at the end of the game, Rose Lavelle blasted the soccer ball past the Netherlands goalie to win the game--USA 2 Netherlands 1.

Rose has played soccer ever since she was in grade school. Her dream was to play in the World Cup and she did it! Did she ever!

Take a peek at Rose Lavelle's journey playing soccer. The support she received from her hometown, Cincinnati, Ohio, led her to achieve her dream and her place in the history of Women's U.S. Soccer.

Celebrating International Women's Day 2019

Celebrating International Women's Day 2019
What is International Women's Day?
On March 8, around the world,  we celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also calls for gender equality in status and pay.

Trailblazing women on this blog are celebrated for what they have brought to our society. Whether she has become an Olympic gold medalist, a female astronaut, a combat pilot, a research scientist and more, we recognize the person, not only because she is a female, but because of her passion and strength and persistence to succeed in her career.

Many of the women had dreams for their future success when they were girls. They worked hard to accomplish those dreams. I interviewed 15 women who are role models for girls who are dreaming about their plans for the future. By reading the stories of these amazing women, girls are inspired to work toward their dreams.

You're invited to browse through the Girls Succeed blog and discover all the stories of the women profiled. If there is a girl in your life, please share this inspiring website with her. Thank you.

Isn't this an amazing paintng with a powerful message?

DREAM BIG!

The image encouragesyou to believe in yourself because you can do anything you dream you can do. Dreams do become reality! Look at the people on American Idol, The Voice, and so many other shows. Look at the women in the Girls Succeed! book. They all had big dreams and made them come true. You can too!!

When I saw this painting on Julie Ann McKevitt's Facebook page, I asked her if she would allow me to post it here on the Girls Succeed blog. This artwork captured the whole idea behind this blog and all the energy and enthusiasm girls exude. I did a happy dance when she said "Yes."

I was pleased to discover Julie had painted and donated this beautiful wall hanging to Jesse's House, an emergency and long term shelter for at-risk girls ages 7-17. What an inspirational message to share with them and with all of you.

Thank you, Julie!

Trailblazer: Race Car Driver Danica Patrick

Amazing trailblazer Danica Patrick is the first woman in history to take the pole position for the NASCAR race at Daytona, Florida this weekend. This means she is the fastest car during the qualifying laps. Her speed? 196.4 miles per hour! Congratulations to you Ms. Patrick!

Although this doesn't guarantee a win in the race, it does give her an advantage in the field of 45 race cars. Danica started racing cars at ten years old. She is living her dream!!

Celebrate the Dreamer in You

Dream BIG! is the message in the Girls Succeed book. If you have a passion and love a subject, then pursue it and make it your goal to work hard toward a career in that field. Animals, technology, cooking, entertainment?

Dolly Parton even wrote a song about dreaming big and celebrating that dream, Celebrate the Dreamer in You! Enjoy this lively song and go ahead and dream big for your life!
